Better Task Management On the Go: Get the Updated Podio App for Android Today

19.03.13 Posted in Product News by

There’s a lot coming to Android from Podio in 2013, this month it’s improved task management. The updated app – available on Google Play now – enables you to edit all the details of your tasks: the due date and time, the description, the assignee and any references you might have.

Android TasksAlong with improved overall performance, another new feature is the ability to attach images to tasks.

A use case that springs to mind would be to snap a picture of a plan or brainstorm on a whiteboard and then task members of the team that couldn’t be there to review it and provide feedback.

The new version of the app also brings Dutch and Japanese language support to Podio, more on that here.

If you’re already using the app, don’t forget to update to the latest version, or you can download it for free from Google Play here. And as always, if you like it, we’d really appreciate your review of the app on Google Play, too.

In other news we’re expanding our Android team here in Copenhagen, so if you want to be part of the amazing team that puts Podio together, and you think you’ve got the skills to take the app to the next level, send me your CV – phil@podio.com

Great to see this. I use the Android app on the phone and the IPad app for the tablet. I have noticed that the android app is now faster than it previously had been. Great work. Both apps are excellent.

Looking good. The problem I had with sometimes not being able to see the question in a poll is fixed :-).

Very happy with the improvements to the way tasks work. Looking good!

One thing though that is still a huge problem for our company: Podio still spawns multiple tasks when you try to setup a task for multiple people. I get (and agree) wanting to only have one owner… but without a warning nor the ability to add followers out of the gate (the @twitter-16294034:disqus in the comments is close but not quite there). The workflow is painful enough to turn away our staff.

I would LOVE to have a followers/stakeholders/other interested parties box where you can add people who should be aware of the task but not necessarily own it.

    Thanks guys.

Glad to hear that you guys like the update. There is a lot more to come :)

Thank you for the update. Please make the one change which all android apps should have -let it rotate with the screen orientation! android tablets sit beautifully in landscape orientation but we cant use the podio app this way :-(

any reason there doesn’t appear to be a search function within apps in mobile app?

  • Todd Donze

The ipad app allows you to upload a file from the sharefile cloud, can we get that functionality in the android app? An android tablet version with screen rotation would also be helpful. Great function, gets the job done, but looks nicer on the ipad.
