Meetup SF: Mobile Work on February 7th

24.01.12 Posted in The Future of Work by

Work is becoming increasingly mobile – it’s no longer a place where you go, it’s something that you do*. With new technology emerging everyday, we are equipped to stay connected at all times no matter where we are. This has brought about a new work environment that enables people to get their work done when, how, and where they want to.

Sign up on Eventbrite for the first Future of Work meetup this year, where we’ll be taking a look at Mobile Work.

Speakers of the evening:

Mark Gilbreath

Mark Gilbreath is CEO and founder of LiquidSpace, an online platform to help you find a better place to work. Mark is a thought leader within the concept of the sharing economy and sees sustainable, mobile business practices as a key element to the Future of Work.
At the upcoming meetup, Mark will explain the good and the bad about today’s Starbucks refugee, and discuss ways that everyone from designers to governments are getting involved in the creation of today’s workspace. There is indeed a better way to work, and moreover, an art of work, and it should be brought to life, collectively and enthusiastically.

Oswald Castillo

Oswald Castillo is the Director of Collaborative Technology at Boiled Architecture, an architecture firm that uses technology to enable a virtual office with a transparent and collaborative environment. Committed to sharing what they learn, Boiled Architecture writes a blog about the business of architecture and is also hosting the Women Entrepreneurship Retreat, happening in March in Monterey Bay. Oswald will touch on the virtual aspects of the workspace by sharing his view on Mobile Work and how Podio has helped their team create their virtual office.

The meetup will start at 6pm on February 7th at Rocketspace. Join in to participate in the discussion on Mobile Work and the impact it has, and will have, on the way we get out work done.

If you want to know more about Podio, there will be a demo stand up and running from 5pm – manned by the ledgendary Christian Blomberg, who’s back in San Francisco after spending the last few months at Podio’s headquarters in Copenhagen. He’ll make sure to get you off to a running start no matter how you want to use Podio, be it for CRM, web development, or your house renovation projects!

Please bring friends and co-workers. We’d love to meet them and have them join in on the Future of Work, so share the word on Twitter and sign-up here!

If you have any questions, you are very welcome to contact me on 415.525.7927.
